Job Description
Safaricom is looking for a Data Protection Officer to ensure compliance with the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019 and oversee the company's data privacy programme. This role is critical given Safaricom's M-Pesa platform processing millions of transactions daily.
Responsibilities
Oversee data protection compliance across all Safaricom business units. Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). Liaise with the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner. Develop privacy policies and data breach response procedures.
Requirements
LLB or relevant degree. CIPM or CIPP certification preferred. 4+ years experience in data protection, privacy law, or ICT regulation. Deep knowledge of the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019.
