LegalAlphabet started with a simple frustration: why is it so hard to find legal jobs in Africa and emerging markets? Today, we connect lawyers and law students with opportunities across 102 countries.

I started LegalAlphabet because I saw a gap that nobody was filling. Legal professionals in Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, India, and dozens of other emerging markets were struggling to find quality job listings. The big job boards focused on the US and Europe. If you were a young lawyer in Nairobi or a law student in Lagos looking for an internship, your options were limited to scattered WhatsApp groups and word of mouth.
That felt wrong to me. I have a background in both law and technology. I studied Computer Science at Thakur Ramnarayan College (graduating Rank 2 in my department with a 9.72 CGPA) before pursuing my LL.B. at Government Law College, Mumbai, one of Asia's oldest and most respected law schools (established 1855). That dual perspective let me see the problem clearly: legal talent exists everywhere, but the platforms to connect that talent with opportunity simply did not exist for most of the world.
Before building LegalAlphabet, I founded munotes.in, an academic platform that grew to over 500,000 users and 50,000 monthly active visitors, with both web and mobile applications. I also filed and secured a trademark for the brand. That experience taught me how to build products that serve real needs at scale.
On the legal side, I gained hands-on experience through patent prosecution work at Kanadlab Institute of Intellectual Property and Research, where I drafted design patent applications, responded to Examiner's Reports, conducted prior art searches, and prepared post-hearing submissions. I also worked on litigation and arbitration under Adv. Shubro Dey, handling commercial suits, arbitral awards, consumer law matters, and Supreme Court research on consent orders.
I combined both worlds and built LegalAlphabet. One job listing at a time. One country at a time. What started as a small directory has grown into a platform serving 102 countries, with 16,505 active job and internship listings updated daily, and 660 career-focused articles.
Every feature we build, every country we expand into, every article we publish comes back to that original mission: make it easier for legal professionals to find the right opportunity, no matter where they are.
To democratize access to legal career opportunities worldwide, with a special focus on Africa and emerging markets where quality job platforms have historically been absent. We believe that a law graduate in Nairobi deserves the same access to career opportunities as one in New York.

Hundreds of active internship listings for law students, including court attachments, law firm internships, and NGO placements across Africa and globally.
A dedicated section for remote legal jobs and internships. Work from anywhere for firms and organizations worldwide.
Africa and the Global South are not afterthoughts. They are our primary focus. We build features with Nairobi, Lagos, and Johannesburg in mind before anywhere else.
You can browse roles, read full job descriptions, create your profile, and set up alerts for free. Membership is for candidates who want to apply, get unlimited human resume reviews, and carry verified member access across the platform.
Every listing on our platform comes from a verified employer. We do not post scams, MLM schemes, or fake opportunities. Your time matters.
We ship improvements every week. New countries, new features, better search, more articles. LegalAlphabet gets better every single day because we listen to our users.
Unlike generic job boards that treat legal as just another category, LegalAlphabet is built exclusively for the legal profession. We understand the difference between a pupillage and an internship, between a Magic Circle firm and a boutique practice, between common law and civil law jurisdictions.
Whether you are a recent LLB graduate in Nairobi looking for your first pupillage, a mid-career advocate in Johannesburg exploring new firms, a law student in Delhi searching for a court internship, or an international law firm looking to hire across borders, LegalAlphabet is built for you.
Have questions, feedback, or a partnership idea? I personally read every message.
