To become a lawyer in South Korea, first earn a bachelor's degree in any field, then pass the LEET entrance test and complete a three-year program at one of the country's accredited graduate law schools. Next, pass the Bar Examination (변호사시험), which only law-school graduates may sit. After passing, complete the required practical apprenticeship (around six months), then register with the Korean Bar Association, which is mandatory to practise. Foreign-qualified lawyers cannot practise Korean law but may register as Foreign Legal Consultants to advise on their home jurisdiction.
