If we got it wrong, tell us.
We would rather be corrected than be quietly wrong. This page explains how to flag an error in anything we have published, what we do when you flag one, and where we record the corrections we have made.
How to report an error
Write to us through contact and mark your message for editorial. It helps if you include:
- The page or article, ideally the link.
- The specific sentence or figure you believe is wrong.
- What it should say, and anything that supports that. A document, a filing, a link, or simply telling us you are the person concerned.
You do not need to be the subject of a piece to report an error in it. If you are the subject, say so, and your message goes to the front of the queue.
What we do next
- We acknowledge it. You get a reply confirming we have it, normally within two working days.
- We check it against the sources. We go back to the primary source, not to our own article.
- We correct, clarify, or explain. If we were wrong, we fix it and log it. If the original was right, we tell you that and explain why, rather than leaving you without an answer.
We do not correct silently. When a published piece changes on a point of fact, we mark the change on the article itself and record it in the log below. Fixing a typo or a broken link is not a correction and is not logged. Changing what a piece asserts about a person, a firm, a figure, or a legal obligation always is.
What we will and will not do
We will fix factual errors, promptly and visibly. We will add context where a piece was accurate but incomplete in a way that misled. We will honour a confidentiality request we agreed to and failed to keep.
We will not remove or alter accurate reporting because the subject would prefer it were not published. If that is our conclusion, we will say so directly rather than going quiet. Corrections log
No corrections have been issued to date. This log was opened on 28 July 2026, when we began publishing reporting on the profession. It stays here whether or not it has entries, because a corrections page that only appears after a mistake is not worth much.
