About the Role
Equity Bank is seeking a dynamic professional to join its Treasury division as the Group Head of Loan and Debt Syndication and Distribution. This senior leadership role involves origination, structuring, syndication, and distribution of complex financing solutions across the bank's pan-African footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead origination across pan-African subsidiaries and branches, coordinating with regional leadership
- Handle syndicated loans, structured credit, project finance, and bond issuances
- Drive institutional investor placement across banks, DFIs, and asset managers
- Develop multi-country transaction pipelines for sovereigns and corporations
- Structure transactions for ministries of finance and multilateral agencies
- Develop term sheets, covenant packages, and security structures
- Oversee loan documentation per LMA/LSTA standards and ensure regulatory compliance across jurisdictions
- Lead investor roadshows and allocation processes
- Mentor and develop sales teams across the region
- Partner with Risk & Compliance teams on risk identification and mitigation
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Economics, Business, or Engineering
- Master's degree in Law or MBA preferred for strategic and managerial depth
- Professional certifications such as CFA or ACCA are an added advantage
- 12-18 years of experience in capital markets, syndication lending, or leveraged finance
- Minimum 7 years in senior leadership roles
- Demonstrable pan-African execution track record
- Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks across African markets
