Position Overview:
Allianz X is seeking for a talented and highly motivated (senior) legal counsel with substantial transactional expertise to complement the company’s legal team. The position is set to be one of the first local hires for the company’s New York office. The role will manage venture capital and growth equity transactions, offer strategic legal advice to senior leaders, and be the first point of contact for all legal issues related to the company’s US operations, working independently within a highly supportive and collaborative setting.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as first point of contact for the Company’s US team on all legal, compliance and governance matters
• Report directly to the company’s General Counsel
• Manage all aspects of M&A, venture capital and growth equity transactions, from due diligence through post-closing integration.
• Oversee legal matters regarding the Company, including its current portfolio of investments, preparation of board meetings, monitoring relevant legal changes.
• Assess legal risks and develop practical solutions that align with the Company’s business goals.
• Select and coordinate external counsel when required.
• Support strategic collaboration between Allianz Group entities and portfolio companies.
• Coordinate exchange in relation to and ensure compliance with Allianz Group’s corporate governance and policy regulations
• Collaborate closely with a dynamic investment team in a small, international office environment.
Qualifications
• JD from an accredited law school; licensed to practice law in New York.
• 3-5 years of legal experience, preferably at a top-tier law firm focused on corporate/M&A.
• Proven expertise and work experience in venture capital, private equity, or financial services and a clear understanding of investment structures.
• Strong drafting, negotiation, and deal execution skills.
• Familiarity with financial regulations and compliance frameworks.
• Comfortable interfacing with investment professionals and portfolio companies.
