Job Description

Access Bank Plc, Nigeria’s largest bank by assets, is recruiting a Legal Adviser for the Fintech & Digital Banking team within the Legal and Compliance Division. The role involves advising on regulatory compliance for digital banking products, mobile money operations, payment service banking, open banking initiatives and partnerships with fintech companies.

Access Bank has operations in 23 countries and is at the forefront of digital banking innovation in Africa.

Responsibilities

Advising on regulatory compliance for digital banking products and services
Reviewing and negotiating technology partnership agreements with fintech companies
Ensuring compliance with CBN regulations on mobile money, agency banking and PSBs
Advising on Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 compliance for digital products
Supporting product teams on regulatory approval processes for new digital offerings

Requirements

LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
4-6 years post-call experience in banking law, fintech regulation or technology law
Knowledge of CBN Payment System Vision, PSMD Framework, and licensing requirements for payment service providers
Experience advising on data protection, consumer protection and digital lending regulations
Understanding of open banking, APIs and digital payment ecosystems
