Job Description
Illovo Sugar Malawi, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods and Malawi's sole sugar producer, is recruiting a Legal and Compliance Manager to oversee all legal affairs across its Nchalo and Dwangwa sugar estates and Limbe head office.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all corporate, commercial and employment law matters
- Advise on land tenure, customary land and agricultural lease agreements
- Oversee regulatory compliance with MERA, Department of Labour and environmental authorities
- Handle litigation and manage panel of external lawyers
Requirements
- LLB; LLM or postgraduate qualification preferred
- 5+ years post-admission experience; agribusiness or corporate background ideal
- Knowledge of the Land Act, Employment Act and environmental legislation
