Job Description
TANESCO is looking for a Senior Legal Counsel to manage regulatory and compliance matters within the company's Legal Department. The role involves liaising with EWURA on tariff applications and regulatory approvals, advising the Board on governance matters, managing litigation, and ensuring compliance with the Electricity Act, Environmental Management Act, and other applicable legislation.

The role involves liaising with EWURA on tariff applications and regulatory approvals, advising the Board on governance matters, managing litigation, and ensuring compliance with the Electricity Act, Environmental Management Act, and other applicable legislation.
Requirements
LLB from a recognized university, LLM preferred. Admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania. Minimum 7 years' PQE, with significant experience in energy regulation, public sector law, or in-house corporate practice. Deep knowledge of EWURA regulatory frameworks, the Electricity Act, and the Public Corporations Act. Experience managing external counsel and litigation portfolios.
