Job Description
Banwo & Ighodalo seeks a motivated Associate to join the Banking & Finance practice group in Lagos. The firm advises leading Nigerian and international banks, DFIs and fintech companies on structured finance, project finance, syndicated lending, securitisation and derivatives transactions.
This is an opportunity to work at one of Nigeria’s most respected full-service law firms alongside 17 Partners and over 80 solicitors.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and reviewing loan facility agreements, guarantees and security documentation
- Advising banks and borrowers on regulatory compliance
- Conducting due diligence on borrowers and collateral
- Assisting with CBN regulatory filings and licensing applications
- Participating in deal closings and post-closing compliance
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
- 2-5 years post-call experience in banking and finance law
- Experience drafting facility agreements, security documents and regulatory filings
- Knowledge of CBN regulations and BOFIA 2020
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
