Banking & Finance Associate — Quisumbing Torres (Baker McKenzie Philippines)

Quisumbing Torres, the Philippine member firm of Baker McKenzie, is seeking a Banking & Finance Associate to join its Finance and Capital Markets practice group in Makati City. The role involves advising domestic and international financial institutions on lending transactions, structured finance, and regulatory compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft and negotiate loan agreements, security documents, and intercreditor arrangements for syndicated lending facilities
  • Advise banks and financial institutions on BSP regulations, anti-money laundering compliance (AMLA), and banking secrecy laws
  • Assist in capital markets transactions including bond issuances, securitizations, and initial public offerings on the PSE
  • Conduct due diligence on borrowers and collateral packages for project finance transactions
  • Coordinate with Baker McKenzie offices across Asia-Pacific on cross-border financing matters
  • Prepare regulatory filings and opinions for submission to the BSP and SEC

About Quisumbing Torres

Requirements

  • Admitted to the Philippine Bar with active IBP membership
  • 3-5 years of experience in banking and finance law at a top-tier Philippine or international law firm
  • Strong knowledge of BSP regulations, General Banking Law (RA 8791), and Securities Regulation Code
  • Experience in loan documentation, project finance, or capital markets transactions
  • J.D. or LL.B. from a top Philippine law school (UP, Ateneo, San Beda preferred)
  • Excellent English drafting and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple transactions simultaneously
