Associate — Tax Advisory at Bowmans Uganda

Bowmans Uganda is seeking an Associate to join its Tax Advisory team. The role involves advising domestic and international clients on Ugandan tax legislation, transfer pricing, tax planning for investments, and tax dispute resolution with the Uganda Revenue Authority.

• Advise clients on Uganda's tax framework including corporate tax, VAT, withholding tax, and transfer pricing
• Structure tax-efficient investments and transactions
• Represent clients in tax disputes with the Uganda Revenue Authority
• Draft objections, appeals, and applications to the Tax Appeals Tribunal
• Prepare tax opinions and advisories for cross-border transactions
• Monitor developments in Uganda's tax legislation and EAC tax harmonization

• LLB degree from a recognized university
• Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre
• Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda
• 2-4 years of experience in tax law or tax advisory
• Knowledge of the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, Tax Procedures Code Act, and East African Community Customs Management Act
• Experience with URA tax dispute resolution processes is an advantage
• CPA qualification is an added advantage
