Job Description
The Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) is recruiting a Legal Officer to support its tax enforcement directorate in Blantyre. You will handle tax disputes, objections, prosecutions and recovery proceedings under the Taxation Act, Value Added Tax Act and Customs and Excise Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle tax objections and appeals before the Tax Appeals Tribunal
- Draft legal opinions on Malawian tax legislation
- Support prosecution of tax offences in the Magistrate Courts
- Advise enforcement teams on seizure and attachment powers
Requirements
- LLB; admitted by the Malawi Law Society
- 2–4 years in tax law or revenue administration
- Knowledge of the Taxation Act and Customs and Excise Act
