Associate — Intellectual Property & Technology (Lagos)

Templars is seeking an Associate to join its Intellectual Property & Technology practice in Lagos. The firm advises leading technology companies, startups and multinationals on IP protection, technology licensing, data privacy compliance and digital economy regulatory matters in Nigeria and across Africa.

• Advising clients on IP registration, licensing and enforcement strategies
• Filing and prosecuting trademark and patent applications with the Trademarks Registry
• Advising on data protection compliance under the NDPA 2023
• Drafting technology licensing agreements, SaaS contracts and data processing agreements
• Representing clients in IP infringement disputes before Nigerian courts and WIPO panels

• LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
• 2-4 years post-call experience in IP, technology or data protection law
• Knowledge of the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and NITDA regulations
• Experience with trademark prosecution and IP portfolio management preferred
• Interest in emerging technology regulation (fintech, AI, blockchain)
