Job Description

Strachan Partners is recruiting an Associate for the Real Estate & Construction practice in Lagos. The firm, founded in 1991 by Charles Adeyemi Candide-Johnson SAN, advises developers, investors, financial institutions and government agencies on real estate acquisitions, construction contracts, infrastructure development and property finance.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting title searches and property due diligence at Land Registries
  • Drafting and reviewing lease agreements, deeds of assignment and mortgages
  • Advising on Governor’s Consent applications and property registration
  • Reviewing construction contracts including FIDIC-based agreements
  • Advising on real estate investment trust (REIT) structures

Requirements

  • LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
  • 2-4 years post-call experience in real estate, property or construction law
  • Knowledge of the Land Use Act and Lagos State property registration framework
  • Experience with real estate due diligence and title verification
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
