Job Description
Strachan Partners is recruiting an Associate for the Real Estate & Construction practice in Lagos. The firm, founded in 1991 by Charles Adeyemi Candide-Johnson SAN, advises developers, investors, financial institutions and government agencies on real estate acquisitions, construction contracts, infrastructure development and property finance.
Responsibilities
- Conducting title searches and property due diligence at Land Registries
- Drafting and reviewing lease agreements, deeds of assignment and mortgages
- Advising on Governor’s Consent applications and property registration
- Reviewing construction contracts including FIDIC-based agreements
- Advising on real estate investment trust (REIT) structures
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
- 2-4 years post-call experience in real estate, property or construction law
- Knowledge of the Land Use Act and Lagos State property registration framework
- Experience with real estate due diligence and title verification
- Strong drafting and negotiation skills
