Job Description
The Reserve Bank of Malawi is recruiting a Legal Counsel to support its Banking Supervision department in Lilongwe. You will provide legal advisory on prudential regulation, bank licensing and enforcement actions under the Banking Act and Financial Services Act.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on the Banking Act, Financial Services Act and Reserve Bank of Malawi Act
- Draft regulatory directives, circulars and guidelines
- Handle enforcement proceedings against non-compliant financial institutions
- Review bank licensing applications and conditions
Requirements
- LLB; LLM in banking or financial law preferred
- Admitted by the Malawi Law Society
- 3+ years in banking regulation or financial services law
