Job Description
The Rwanda Revenue Authority is recruiting a Legal Officer for its Customs and Trade department. You will provide legal support on customs valuation disputes, trade facilitation matters and cross-border trade compliance within the EAC Customs Union.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on customs law and EAC Common External Tariff application
- Handle customs valuation disputes and classification matters
- Draft legal opinions on import/export regulations
- Support anti-smuggling enforcement from a legal perspective
- Review trade agreements and preferential tariff arrangements
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university
- 2-4 years experience in customs, trade or tax law
- Knowledge of the EAC Customs Management Act and Rwanda Customs Law
- Understanding of international trade law (WTO, AfCFTA)
- Bilingual English/French preferred
