Legal Officer — International Law at OSCE
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) is recruiting a Legal Officer for its Legal Services division at the Secretariat in Vienna. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on international law matters within the world's largest regional security organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal advice on international law, institutional law, and the OSCE's legal framework
- Draft and review agreements, memoranda of understanding, and host country arrangements
- Advise on privileges and immunities of the organization and its staff
- Support legal aspects of OSCE field operations and missions
- Research and prepare legal opinions on human rights, humanitarian law, and security-related legal issues
Requirements
- Advanced university degree in international law, public international law, or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in international law, preferably with an international organization
- Strong knowledge of public international law, treaty law, and institutional law
- Experience with privileges and immunities frameworks
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other OSCE languages (French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish) is an asset
