Mid-Level Associate — M&A and Private Equity (Lagos)

Olaniwun Ajayi LP, Nigeria’s oldest Tier 1 law firm founded in 1962, is recruiting a Mid-Level Associate for the M&A and Private Equity practice. The firm has unparalleled expertise in complex commercial transactions and has been at the forefront of Nigeria’s most significant corporate deals for over 60 years.

The role involves advising private equity funds, sovereign wealth funds and multinational corporates on acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and investment structuring in Nigeria and West Africa.

• Leading due diligence workstreams on M&A transactions
• Drafting and negotiating SPAs, SSAs, shareholders agreements and investment documentation
• Advising on regulatory approvals from SEC, FCCPC and sector-specific regulators
• Coordinating with international counsel on cross-border deal structures
• Managing junior associates and reviewing their work product

• LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
• 4-6 years post-call experience in M&A, private equity or corporate finance
• Track record of closing significant transactions
• LL.M from a reputable institution (desirable)
• Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
