About the Role
Obeidat & Freihat is expanding its northern Jordan practice and seeks an Associate specialising in Real Estate and Property Law. Based in our Irbid branch office, you will advise on property transactions, land registration, and real estate development projects in the northern governorates.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on real estate purchases, sales, and lease transactions under the Jordanian Land and Water Settlement Law
- Conduct title searches and due diligence at the Department of Lands and Survey
- Draft and review sale agreements, lease contracts, and mortgage documentation
- Advise real estate developers on zoning regulations, building permits, and Greater Irbid Municipality requirements
- Handle property dispute litigation before the Land Settlement Courts and regular courts
- Advise on foreign ownership restrictions and the Non-Jordanians Immovable Property Ownership Law
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised Jordanian university
- Jordan Bar Association membership with 2-4 years post-qualification experience in real estate or property law
- Strong knowledge of the Landlord and Tenant Law, Land Registration Law, and property transfer procedures
- Experience dealing with the Department of Lands and Survey and municipal authorities
- Excellent client-facing skills and ability to manage an independent caseload
- Based in or willing to relocate to Irbid
