About the Role
Alpha Bank is looking for an In-House Legal Counsel to join our Compliance and Regulatory Affairs division in Athens. You will ensure the bank's operations comply with Greek banking regulations, ECB requirements, and EU anti-money laundering directives.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and interpret Greek and EU banking regulations affecting the bank's operations
- Advise business units on AML/KYC requirements and sanctions compliance
- Draft internal policies and procedures to ensure regulatory compliance
- Coordinate with the Bank of Greece, Hellenic Capital Market Commission, and ECB on regulatory matters
- Support internal audits and regulatory examinations
Requirements
- Law degree from a Greek university; LLM or postgraduate studies in banking/financial law preferred
- Member of Dikigoritikos Syllogos Athinon
- 4-7 years of experience in banking compliance or financial regulation
- Knowledge of Greek AML framework (Law 4557/2018) and EU directives
- Fluent English required; proficiency in regulatory reporting standards
