Job Description
BRAC is recruiting a Legal Officer for its Microfinance programme, the largest in Bangladesh. The role focuses on ensuring regulatory compliance with Microcredit Regulatory Authority (MRA) requirements and managing legal aspects of microfinance operations.
Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with MRA licensing and reporting requirements. Draft and review loan documentation and borrower agreements. Handle legal disputes related to microfinance operations. Advise on consumer protection and responsible lending practices. Support field offices on legal queries and dispute resolution.
Requirements
LLB from a recognized university. 2-4 years of experience in financial regulation or microfinance. Knowledge of Microcredit Regulatory Authority Act 2006 and MRA regulations. Understanding of consumer protection in financial services. Willingness to travel to field offices.
