Investment Law Specialist — Kurdistan Legal Group, Erbil
Kurdistan Legal Group is seeking an Investment Law Specialist to advise international and domestic investors on market entry, company formation, and regulatory compliance in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Based in Erbil, this role involves working with the Kurdistan Board of Investment, KRG ministries, and international business clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise investors on Kurdistan Region Investment Law and licensing procedures
- Prepare investment license applications for the Kurdistan Board of Investment
- Draft joint venture agreements, distribution agreements, and agency contracts for the Kurdistan market
- Advise on Kurdistan Region company registration and commercial licensing
- Handle cross-border legal matters involving Turkey, Iran, and Gulf state counterparts
- Monitor legislative developments in the Kurdistan Region parliament
- Support due diligence for real estate development and infrastructure projects in Erbil and Sulaymaniyah

Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Iraq or Kurdistan Region
- 3-7 years of experience in investment law, corporate law, or commercial transactions
- Knowledge of Kurdistan Region Investment Law and KRG regulatory framework
- Fluency in Kurdish (Sorani or Kurmanji), Arabic, and English
- Experience advising foreign investors on market entry in Iraq or Kurdistan
- LLB from a recognized Iraqi or Kurdish university, or international LLM
- Strong commercial awareness and client relationship skills
