The role involves advising on telecommunications regulation, data protection under Uganda's Data Protection and Privacy Act, and digital services law.

• Advise on compliance with telecommunications regulatory requirements
• Lead MTN Uganda's data protection compliance program
• Manage regulatory filings and license renewals with UCC
• Draft and review data processing agreements and privacy policies
• Handle regulatory inquiries and enforcement proceedings
• Advise on mobile money regulations and fintech compliance
• Support product launches with regulatory and privacy impact assessments
• Train business teams on data protection and regulatory compliance

• LLB degree from a recognized university
• Diploma in Legal Practice from the Law Development Centre
• Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda
• 6-8 years of post-qualification experience, with focus on telecommunications law, data protection, or regulatory affairs
• Knowledge of the Uganda Communications Act, Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019, and Electronic Transactions Act
• LLM in Technology Law, IP, or Data Protection is an advantage
• Experience with the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) regulatory framework
