About the Internship
Al Tamimi & Company Jordan is offering a summer legal internship in the International Arbitration practice group. This unpaid 2-month programme runs from June to August and provides exposure to cross-border dispute resolution at the largest law firm in the Middle East.
What You Will Learn
- Assist arbitration lawyers with case preparation for ICC, LCIA, and ad hoc arbitration proceedings seated in Jordan and the wider MENA region
- Conduct legal research on arbitration law, including the Jordanian Arbitration Law No. 31 of 2001 and the New York Convention
- Draft research memoranda on procedural and substantive issues in international commercial arbitration
- Attend arbitration hearings and moot sessions at the Amman Centre for International Arbitration
- Assist with the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards before Jordanian courts
- Participate in the firm s structured training programme with lectures from senior partners and associates
Eligibility
- Current LLB students in their third or fourth year at a recognised Jordanian or international law faculty
- Strong interest in international arbitration, commercial disputes, or international law
- Strong academic record with demonstrated research and writing abilities
- Good command of English; Arabic language skills are an advantage
- Duration: 2 months (June to August)
- Compensation: Unpaid, but certificates of completion and reference letters provided
- Application deadline: April 30 each year
