Job Description
Bancolombia is hiring a mid-level banking and regulatory lawyer for its legal department in Medellín. The role involves advising on banking products, consumer financial protection, fintech partnerships, and regulatory submissions to the Superfinanciera. The lawyer will support Bancolombia's digital transformation initiatives including Nequi (Colombia's leading digital wallet) and open banking regulatory compliance.
Based at the Centro Empresarial in El Poblado, this position offers exposure to one of Latin America's most innovative financial institutions.
Responsibilities
- Advising on regulatory compliance for new banking products and digital services
- Preparing regulatory filings and responses to Superfinanciera requirements
- Reviewing fintech partnership agreements and technology licensing contracts
- Advising on consumer financial protection and SFC complaint response
- Supporting digital transformation legal workstreams including data protection (Ley 1581 de 2012) compliance
Requirements
- Título de Abogado and active Tarjeta Profesional
- 3-6 years of experience in banking law, financial regulation, or fintech
- Knowledge of the Estatuto Orgánico del Sistema Financiero and Superfinanciera regulatory framework
- Experience with consumer financial protection regulations and Superintendencia Financiera complaint handling
- Understanding of Colombia's fintech regulatory sandbox and open banking initiatives
