Advogado — Direito Bancário e Financeiro

Morais Leitão is seeking an Advogado to strengthen its highly regarded Direito Bancário e Financeiro practice in Lisbon. Based on Rua Castilho near the headquarters of Portugal's major banks and the Banco de Portugal, you will advise Portuguese and international financial institutions on syndicated lending, acquisition finance, project finance, and debt restructurings under the Regime Geral das Instituições de Crédito e Sociedades Financeiras (RGICSF) and EU banking directives.

Principais Responsabilidades

• Draft and negotiate syndicated loan agreements, security packages (hipotecas, penhores, e cauções), and intercreditor agreements under Portuguese law
• Advise on compliance with the RGICSF, Banco de Portugal Avisos, and ECB supervisory requirements
• Support restructuring mandates under the Código da Insolvência e da Recuperação de Empresas (CIRE) and Processo Especial de Revitalização (PER)
• Conduct legal due diligence on Portuguese collateral packages and security interests

Requisitos

• Licenciatura or Mestrado em Direito from a recognised Portuguese university
• Inscrito na Ordem dos Advogados — Estágio completed
• 3-6 years PQE in banking and finance law
• Knowledge of CIRE insolvency procedures and Portuguese security law
• Fluent English required for cross-border transactions
