Job Description
The Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority (Kilpailu- ja kuluttajavirasto, KKV) is recruiting a Competition Law Specialist to join our Competition Division in Helsinki. You will investigate potential infringements of the Kilpailulaki (Competition Act) and EU competition law.
The role involves analyzing mergers, investigating cartels and abuse of dominance cases, and preparing decisions for the Market Court (Markkinaoikeus). You will work at the heart of Finnish competition enforcement, liaising with the European Commission and other Nordic competition authorities.
Responsibilities
Investigate potential competition law infringements under the Kilpailulaki and EU law. Analyze merger notifications and prepare recommendations for clearance or prohibition. Draft statements of objections and decisions for the Market Court (Markkinaoikeus). Cooperate with the European Commission and Nordic competition authorities on cross-border cases. Provide legal advice to KKV management on competition policy matters.
Requirements
OTM degree from a Finnish university. 3-6 years of competition law experience in a law firm, competition authority, or corporate setting. Deep knowledge of the Kilpailulaki (Competition Act) and EU competition law (Articles 101-102 TFEU). Experience with merger control analysis or cartel investigations. Fluent in Finnish and English.
