Job Description
National Bank of Oman (NBO) is seeking a Credit Legal Counsel for its Ruwi headquarters in Muscat. The role involves providing legal support to the credit and corporate banking divisions, reviewing facility agreements, and managing the bank's loan recovery litigation.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and draft term loan agreements, overdraft facilities, and trade finance documentation
- Advise on security packages including mortgages, pledges, and guarantees under Omani law
- Manage loan recovery proceedings before Muscat Primary Court and the Commercial Court
- Ensure credit documentation complies with CBO prudential regulations and capital adequacy requirements
- Advise the credit committee on legal risks associated with large corporate exposures
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; banking or finance law specialisation preferred
- Admitted as Lawyer/Legal Adviser by the Oman Bar Association
- 4-7 years PQE in banking legal, credit documentation, or loan recovery
- Knowledge of Omani commercial law, mortgage registration, and CBO regulations
- Bilingual Arabic and English
Responsibilities

Requirements
