Job Description

Energy Transition and Renewables Lawyer

AAA Law (in association with Dentons) is seeking an Energy Transition and Renewables Lawyer to support Saudi Arabia's rapidly growing clean energy sector, including solar, wind, hydrogen, and carbon capture projects.

Role Overview

Under Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative, the Kingdom plans to generate 50% of its energy from renewables by 2030. You will advise on power purchase agreements, renewable energy project development, and the emerging hydrogen economy, including NEOM's groundbreaking green hydrogen project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise on renewable energy project development including PPAs, concession agreements, and EPC contracts
  • Support project finance transactions for solar, wind, and green hydrogen projects
  • Advise on regulatory frameworks for renewable energy under the Renewable Energy Project Development Office (REPDO)
  • Draft and negotiate carbon credit trading agreements and ESG-linked financing
  • Support NEOM's green hydrogen project and related infrastructure development
  • Advise on water desalination projects under PPP structures

Requirements

  • LLB/JD from a recognized university; LLM in energy law, environmental law, or project finance preferred
  • 4-8 years of experience in energy, renewables, or project finance law
  • Knowledge of power purchase agreements, concession structures, and project finance
  • Familiarity with Saudi energy regulations and REPDO procurement processes
  • English fluency required; Arabic is an advantage
