Job Description
HSE Legal Advisor — TotalEnergies Algeria
TotalEnergies Algeria is seeking an HSE (Health, Safety, Environment) Legal Advisor to ensure compliance with Algeria's environmental and occupational safety regulations across its Algerian operations.
Responsibilities
- Advise on compliance with Algeria's environmental protection legislation (Loi n°03-10 relative à la protection de l'environnement)
- Manage environmental permits, impact assessments, and regulatory filings
- Advise on occupational health and safety compliance under the Algerian Labor Code and related decrees
- Handle environmental incidents, regulatory inspections, and remediation obligations
- Support TotalEnergies' sustainability initiatives in Algeria
- Interface with the Ministry of Environment, ALNAFT, and other regulatory authorities

Requirements
Master's degree in Environmental Law, HSE Management, or equivalent. 3-5 years' experience in environmental/HSE law, preferably in the energy or industrial sector. Knowledge of Algeria's environmental legislation and permitting procedures. Familiarity with international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 45001). Experience with environmental impact assessments. Fluency in French and English; Arabic is an asset. Willingness to travel to operational sites in southern Algeria.
