Job Description
TotalEnergies, a CAC 40 energy major headquartered at La Defense, is seeking a Senior Juriste for its Energy Regulation and Environmental Law team. You will advise on the legal framework governing energy transition, renewable energy projects, and environmental compliance under French and EU law.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on French energy regulation including the Code de l'energie and renewable energy legislation
- Structure power purchase agreements (PPAs) and renewable energy project development contracts
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulation under the Code de l'environnement
- Handle environmental permits and ICPE (Installations classees pour la protection de l'environnement) authorizations
- Advise on EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS) compliance and carbon market regulation
Requirements
- Master 2 in Environmental Law or Energy Law from a leading French university
- Admitted as Avocat or qualified juriste d'entreprise
- 6-10 years experience in energy/environmental law
- Deep knowledge of the Code de l'environnement and Code de l'energie
- Bilingual French/English; experience with international energy projects preferred
