Job Description
Legal Counsel – Intellectual Property
Nestlé SA, the world's largest food and beverage company headquartered in Vevey on Lake Geneva, is seeking an IP Legal Counsel to join its global Intellectual Property team.
You will manage and protect Nestlé's extensive trademark and patent portfolio across multiple jurisdictions, handle IP litigation, and advise on brand protection strategies for some of the world's most recognized consumer brands.
What You Will Do
- Manage trademark portfolios and coordinate international filings via the Madrid System
- Handle IP enforcement actions, including opposition and cancellation proceedings at IGE/IPI and EUIPO
- Advise R&D teams on patent filing strategies and freedom-to-operate analyses
- Support M&A transactions with IP due diligence
- Draft and negotiate licensing and co-branding agreements
Responsibilities
- Manage and enforce Nestlé's IP portfolio in assigned jurisdictions
- Coordinate with outside counsel on IP litigation worldwide
- Advise business units on branding, packaging, and IP clearance
- Conduct IP due diligence for acquisitions and partnerships
- Monitor IP regulatory developments in Switzerland and key markets
Requirements
- Swiss Anwaltspatent or equivalent IP qualification
- MLaw or equivalent; LL.M. in IP Law preferred
- 3-6 years of IP law experience, ideally in consumer goods or FMCG
- Knowledge of Swiss trademark law, Patent Act, and international IP treaties
- Fluent in English and French; German is an advantage
- Experience with IP portfolio management tools
