Job Description
Aluko & Oyebode is recruiting a Senior Associate for its Energy & Natural Resources practice in Abuja. The role requires an experienced lawyer with a strong background in oil and gas, power and renewable energy transactions across upstream, midstream and downstream sectors.
The successful candidate will work on project finance, regulatory advisory, licensing and concession agreements for major energy clients operating in Nigeria.
Responsibilities
- Leading on energy and natural resources transactions and regulatory advisory
- Drafting and negotiating production sharing contracts, farm-in/farm-out agreements and JOAs
- Advising on compliance with NUPRC and NMDPRA regulations
- Managing relationships with key energy sector clients
- Mentoring junior associates and supervising work product
Requirements
- LL.B and B.L. with admission to the Nigerian Bar
- 6-9 years post-call experience in energy, oil & gas or project finance
- Experience advising IOCs, indigenous oil companies or government agencies
- Strong understanding of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021
- Excellent client relationship skills
