Senior Legal Counsel – EU Competition & Antitrust

AB InBev, the world's largest brewer, headquartered on the Grand-Place in Leuven, is seeking a Senior Legal Counsel for its Global Competition and Antitrust team. The company operates over 500 brands across 150+ markets, making competition law compliance a critical function.

You will lead EU and Belgian competition law compliance, manage antitrust investigations, and advise on M&A transactions from a competition perspective. AB InBev has significant experience navigating European Commission proceedings, making this role essential for the company's continued global expansion.

What You Will Do

• Lead EU and Belgian competition law compliance across the company's European operations
• Manage interactions with DG Competition and national competition authorities
• Advise on competition aspects of M&A transactions and joint ventures
• Develop and deliver competition compliance training programmes globally
• Manage external counsel on complex antitrust investigations and proceedings

• Lead competition compliance strategy for European markets
• Manage antitrust investigations and Dawn Raid response procedures
• Advise on competition aspects of strategic transactions and market initiatives
• Develop competition law compliance training materials and programmes
• Report to the Chief Legal Officer on competition risk management

• Belgian Bar admission or equivalent legal qualification
• Master in Law; LL.M. in Competition Law or EU Law preferred
• 8-12 years of EU competition law experience (law firm or in-house)
• Proven track record managing European Commission investigations
• Fluent in English; French or Dutch is an advantage
• Experience in FMCG, consumer goods, or beverage industry preferred
