Senior Legal Counsel – Insurance Regulatory
OCBC Bank is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to support insurance regulatory matters for its subsidiary Great Eastern Holdings, one of Southeast Asia's largest insurance groups. Based in the Raffles Place financial district, you will advise on insurance regulation, product compliance, and MAS supervisory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on insurance regulatory compliance under the Insurance Act, MAS notices, and Insurance (Valuation and Capital) Regulations
- Support Great Eastern's product launches, ensuring compliance with MAS product governance requirements
- Advise on distribution channel regulation, including bancassurance arrangements between OCBC and Great Eastern
- Handle regulatory correspondence, MAS inspections, and supervisory enquiries on insurance matters
- Monitor and advise on emerging insurance regulation, including InsurTech, parametric insurance, and ESG reporting requirements
Requirements
- Admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Singapore, or qualified in a common law jurisdiction
- 6–10 years of experience in insurance law, financial regulation, or in-house at an insurance company
- Deep knowledge of the Insurance Act, MAS insurance supervision framework, and risk-based capital regime
- Experience with Life, General, and Health insurance regulatory requirements
- Understanding of bancassurance distribution models
