Chambering Student — Shearn Delamore & Co
Shearn Delamore & Co, one of Malaysia's oldest and most respected law firms established in 1905, is accepting applications for chambering students. The firm offers a comprehensive 9-month chambering programme with rotations across its major practice areas including corporate and commercial, intellectual property, banking and finance, real estate, and litigation.
What You Will Do
- Undergo the mandatory 9-month chambering period under a designated pupil master
- Rotate through at least 3 of Shearn Delamore's practice departments
- Assist in intellectual property matters including trademark and patent filings before MyIPO
- Support the corporate team on transactions, due diligence exercises, and regulatory filings
- Draft legal research memoranda, correspondence, and basic court documents
- Attend the Malaysian Bar Council's chambering programme workshops and examinations
Duration & Compensation
9 months, paid chambering with a monthly allowance. Shearn Delamore has a strong track record of retaining chambering students as associates upon their call to the Malaysian Bar.

Requirements
- Holder of Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) from the Malaysian Legal Profession Qualifying Board
- LL.B. from a recognised university; graduates from University of Malaya, UiTM, IIUM, or reputable UK/Australian universities are encouraged to apply
- Minimum Second Class Upper Honours or CGPA 3.0
- Strong interest in intellectual property, corporate law, or litigation
- Excellent written and spoken English; Bahasa Malaysia proficiency required
- Malaysian citizen or permanent resident
- Available for the full 9-month chambering period
