Internship Description
Paid Internship | Duration: 3 months | Start: January 2027
Eligibility: OTM students in their 4th or 5th year, or recent graduates. Candidates with coursework in consumer law, EU law, or digital regulation are especially welcome.
KKV is seeking a Research Intern for our Consumer Protection division in Helsinki. You will assist legal officers in enforcing the Kuluttajansuojalaki (Consumer Protection Act) and contribute to research on digital consumer protection challenges.
The internship offers hands-on experience with consumer enforcement, including exposure to the Market Court (Markkinaoikeus), the Consumer Disputes Board, and the EU CPC Network for cross-border consumer cooperation.
Responsibilities
Assist legal officers with consumer complaint investigation and analysis. Conduct research on the Kuluttajansuojalaki and EU consumer protection directives. Draft summaries of consumer enforcement cases and Market Court decisions. Support preparation of guidance documents for businesses and consumers. Contribute to research projects on digital consumer protection topics.
Requirements
OTM student (4th year or above) or recent graduate from a Finnish university. Interest in consumer law and consumer protection policy. Knowledge of the Kuluttajansuojalaki (Consumer Protection Act) is an advantage. Research and writing skills. Fluent in Finnish and English.
