Stage en Droit Minier — Lexel Juridique & Fiscal
Lexel Juridique & Fiscal offers a paid stage (internship) in mining law for final-year law students or recent graduates. This 6-month stage provides immersive exposure to Madagascar's mining legal sector during the exciting post-moratorium period. You will work directly with the firm's mining law team on permit applications, regulatory compliance matters, and client advisory projects involving the Code Minier and BCMM procedures.
This is a unique opportunity to develop specialized expertise in mining law — one of Madagascar's most dynamic and well-compensated legal practice areas. The stage may lead to a permanent position for exceptional candidates.
Responsibilities
- Assist avocats with mining permit applications and BCMM filings
- Conduct legal research on the Code Minier and post-moratorium regulatory changes
- Draft memoranda on mining law topics and regulatory developments
- Attend client meetings and take notes under partner supervision
- Assist with due diligence on mining asset transactions
- Prepare presentations on mining law topics for firm seminars
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Master's program in law
- Interest in mining law, natural resources law, or environmental law
- Strong academic record at the University of Antananarivo or equivalent
- Fluency in French; Malagasy and English proficiency preferred
- Strong research and writing skills
- Available for a 6-month full-time commitment
