Abogado — Derecho Ambiental y Sostenibilidad (Bogotá)

Ecopetrol is hiring a mid-level environmental lawyer to support its sustainability and energy transition initiatives. The role involves advising on environmental licensing (ANLA), prior consultation with indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities (Consulta Previa), environmental impact assessments, and compliance with Colombia's environmental regulatory framework.

As Ecopetrol accelerates its energy transition strategy, the environmental lawyer will play a key role in renewable energy projects, carbon offset programmes, and compliance with Colombia's Paris Agreement commitments and Ley 2169 de 2021 (climate action law).

• Managing environmental licensing processes before ANLA for hydrocarbon and renewable energy projects
• Advising on Consulta Previa processes with indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities
• Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and Ecopetrol's ESG commitments
• Supporting the legal framework for Ecopetrol's energy transition and renewable energy projects
• Coordinating with corporaciones autónomas regionales on environmental permits and monitoring

• Título de Abogado and active Tarjeta Profesional
• 4-7 years of experience in environmental law, sustainability, or natural resources
• Knowledge of ANLA licensing procedures and Ministerio de Ambiente regulations
• Experience with Consulta Previa (prior consultation) processes under ILO Convention 169
• Understanding of carbon markets, environmental offsets, and ESG frameworks
• English proficiency for international sustainability reporting
