Abogado Senior — Derecho Laboral (Santiago)

Garrigues Chile seeks a Senior Employment lawyer for its Santiago office. The role involves advising multinational and Chilean employers on individual and collective labour relations under the Codigo del Trabajo, workplace restructurings, executive compensation, and representation before the Direccion del Trabajo and Juzgados de Letras del Trabajo.

Chile's reformed labour framework — including Ley 20.940 (Modernizacion de las Relaciones Laborales), the 40-hour workweek reform (Ley 21.561), and evolving remote work regulations — creates complex compliance challenges for employers. The successful candidate will advise Spanish, European, and multinational companies operating in Chile on the full spectrum of employment law matters.

• Advising employers on hiring, termination, and workplace restructuring under the Codigo del Trabajo
• Managing collective bargaining negotiations with sindicatos and federaciones
• Representing clients before Juzgados de Letras del Trabajo in unfair dismissal and labour claims
• Advising on compliance with the 40-hour workweek reform and remote work regulations
• Drafting employment contracts, reglamentos internos, and executive compensation packages
• Advising on immigration and work permits for expatriate employees in Chile

• Licenciatura en Ciencias Juridicas and juramento ante la Corte Suprema
• 7-11 years of experience in employment and labour law
• Deep knowledge of the Codigo del Trabajo, Ley 20.940, and Ley 21.561 (40-hour workweek)
• Experience with collective bargaining, union negotiations, and huelga (strike) management
• Track record before Juzgados de Letras del Trabajo and the Direccion del Trabajo
• Fluent English and Spanish (French or Portuguese a plus for multinational clients)
