Associate – Banking & Restructuring

Niederer Kraft Frey AG, a highly respected law firm near Paradeplatz in Zurich, is looking for a talented Associate to join its Banking and Restructuring practice.

You will work on complex debt restructuring proceedings (Nachlassverfahren), insolvency mandates, and distressed M&A transactions. The practice advises banks, creditor committees, and distressed companies on workouts and formal restructuring proceedings under Swiss debt enforcement law (SchKG).

What You Will Do

• Advise on debt restructuring compositions (Nachlassvertrag) and bankruptcy proceedings
• Support distressed M&A transactions and asset sales out of insolvency
• Draft and negotiate intercreditor agreements and standstill arrangements
• Advise banks on enforcement of security interests under Swiss law

• Advise on formal and informal restructuring proceedings
• Draft restructuring plans and compositions with creditors
• Support banking clients on enforcement and security realization
• Research complex questions of Swiss insolvency and enforcement law
• Coordinate with international counsel on cross-border insolvency matters

• Swiss Anwaltspatent required
• MLaw from a Swiss university
• 3-5 years of experience in banking, restructuring, or insolvency law
• Strong knowledge of the SchKG (Swiss Debt Enforcement and Bankruptcy Act)
• Fluent in German and English
• Ability to work under pressure on time-sensitive restructuring mandates
