Job Description
Makarim & Taira S. is hiring an Associate for its Intellectual Property practice at the Summitmas I building on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Jakarta. You will handle trademark registrations, patent prosecution, copyright enforcement, and IP licensing deals, advising both domestic and international clients on Indonesia's IP regime under UU Merek (Trademark Law), UU Paten, and UU Hak Cipta.
Key Responsibilities
- File and prosecute trademark and patent applications with the DJKI (Directorate General of IP)
- Advise on IP licensing, franchising, and technology transfer agreements
- Handle IP infringement disputes before the Pengadilan Niaga (Commercial Court)
- Conduct IP due diligence for M&A transactions
- Monitor counterfeiting and coordinate with customs enforcement
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised Indonesian university
- Admitted as Advokat by PERADI
- 3-5 years experience in intellectual property law
- Experience filing with DJKI and appearing before Pengadilan Niaga
- Knowledge of WIPO treaties and international IP frameworks
Responsibilities
File trademarks/patents with DJKI, advise on IP licensing, handle infringement disputes, conduct IP due diligence
Requirements
LLB, PERADI admission, 3-5 years IP law, DJKI filing experience, international IP knowledge
