Job Description
Oman Air is seeking an Aviation Legal Counsel for its headquarters near Muscat International Airport in the Seeb district. This role provides legal support across the airline's commercial, regulatory, and operational functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on aircraft leasing and financing agreements (operating leases, sale-leasebacks, ECA-backed financing)
- Draft and negotiate code-share agreements, interline agreements, and alliance documentation
- Ensure compliance with Oman's Civil Aviation Authority regulations and ICAO standards
- Handle passenger claims, cargo disputes, and Montreal Convention matters
- Advise on ground handling concessions, fuel supply agreements, and airport slot negotiations
Requirements
- LLB from a recognised university; LLM in Aviation, Transport, or International Law preferred
- 5-8 years PQE in aviation law, transport, or commercial law
- Knowledge of the Montreal Convention, Cape Town Convention, and Oman Civil Aviation Law
- Experience with aircraft financing or leasing transactions
- Fluent English; Arabic an advantage
