FJ & G de Saram, one of Sri Lanka's oldest and most respected law firms, seeks a Banking & Finance Associate Attorney-at-Law for its Colombo 3 office. The firm's banking practice is consistently ranked as a market leader, advising licensed commercial banks, development finance institutions, and international lenders on Sri Lanka's complex financial regulatory landscape.

The Associate will work on syndicated lending, project finance, trade finance, and debt restructuring transactions governed by the Banking Act, the Finance Business Act, and Central Bank of Sri Lanka directives. This is an exceptional opportunity to build a banking law career at a 150-year-old firm with a track record of advising on the island's most significant financial transactions.

• Draft and review loan agreements, security documents, mortgages, and guarantees
• Advise on regulatory compliance with Banking Act, Central Bank directives, and KYC/AML requirements
• Support syndicated lending and project finance transactions
• Handle Parate Execution and debt recovery proceedings at the District Court of Colombo
• Conduct due diligence on borrowers and security assets including title searches at the Land Registry
• Advise on foreign exchange regulations and cross-border lending structures

• Attorney-at-Law admitted by BASL with 3–6 years' post-admission experience
• Strong background in banking and finance law, including loan documentation and security creation
• Knowledge of the Banking Act, Finance Business Act, and Central Bank prudential regulations
• Experience with Parate Execution proceedings and debt recovery under the Recovery of Loans by Banks Act
• Understanding of exchange control regulations and Foreign Exchange Act
• LL.B. from the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka Law College, or equivalent institution
• Excellent English drafting skills
