Job Description
Neste is recruiting a Data Protection Counsel to join our Legal Department in Espoo. You will serve as a key legal adviser on GDPR compliance, data governance, and privacy matters across Neste's global operations.
The role involves advising on data protection impact assessments, managing data subject requests, and ensuring compliance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation and Finnish data protection legislation. You will liaise with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto) as needed.
Responsibilities
Advise business units on GDPR compliance and data protection best practices. Conduct and review Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs). Manage data subject access requests and breach notification procedures. Draft and negotiate data processing agreements with vendors and partners. Liaise with the Office of the Data Protection Ombudsman on regulatory matters.
Requirements
OTM degree from a Finnish university. 3-6 years of data protection or privacy law experience. Expert knowledge of GDPR and Finnish data protection legislation. CIPP/E certification preferred. Experience advising multinational companies on cross-border data transfers. Fluent in Finnish and English.
