Employment & Omanisation Lawyer

Said Al Shahry & Partners (SASLO) is seeking an Employment & Omanisation Lawyer for its CBD office in Muscat, near the Ministry of Justice and Muscat Primary Court. The role focuses on advising employers on the Oman Labour Law (Royal Decree 35/2003, as amended), Omanisation quotas, and workforce restructuring under the Ministry of Labour directives.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise employers on Omanisation requirements and compliance with sector-specific quotas set by the Ministry of Labour
• Draft employment contracts, non-compete clauses, and termination agreements under the Oman Labour Law
• Represent clients in labour disputes before the Ministry of Labour conciliation panels and the Primary Court
• Advise on redundancy processes, end-of-service benefits, and the Social Protection Fund contributions
• Conduct compliance audits on Omanisation ratios and recommend workforce restructuring strategies

Requirements

• LLB from a recognised university; specialisation in Employment or Labour Law preferred
• Admitted as Lawyer/Legal Adviser by the Oman Bar Association
• 3-6 years PQE in employment law, preferably in the GCC
• Thorough understanding of Omanisation regulations and Ministry of Labour circulars
• Bilingual Arabic and English essential
