Job Description
Nokia Corporation is seeking a Head of Legal for Patents & Licensing at our headquarters in Espoo. You will lead a team of patent lawyers and licensing professionals managing Nokia's world-class patent portfolio, one of the largest in the telecommunications industry.
This executive role involves directing patent licensing negotiations, managing patent litigation worldwide, and advising Nokia's executive leadership on IP monetization strategy. You will oversee proceedings before the Market Court (Markkinaoikeus), the Unified Patent Court (UPC), and international jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
Lead Nokia's global patent licensing strategy and negotiations. Manage patent litigation and enforcement proceedings across multiple jurisdictions. Advise Nokia's executive leadership on IP portfolio strategy and monetization. Oversee patent filings, prosecution, and portfolio management. Build and lead a high-performing team of patent lawyers and licensing professionals.
Requirements
OTM or equivalent law degree; technical degree is a strong advantage. 12+ years of patent law and licensing experience. Proven leadership of legal teams in a multinational corporate environment. Deep expertise in telecommunications standards and FRAND licensing. Experience with patent litigation in multiple jurisdictions. Fluent in English; Finnish is preferred.
