Regulatory & Government Affairs Associate — Hogan Lovells, Holborn

Hogan Lovells is seeking a Regulatory & Government Affairs Associate to join its top-ranked practice at Atlantic House, Holborn, London. The firm's government regulatory practice is one of the largest and most respected globally, advising multinational corporations, trade bodies, and governments on complex UK and international regulatory matters.

You will advise clients on public law, judicial review, regulatory investigations, and government affairs across regulated industries including financial services, healthcare, technology, and energy. The team works at the intersection of law, policy, and politics in Westminster and Whitehall.

Practice Highlights

  • Judicial review proceedings in the Administrative Court and Court of Appeal
  • Regulatory investigations by Ofcom, Ofgem, CMA, and sector regulators
  • Parliamentary lobbying and legislative analysis
  • Public procurement challenges and government contract disputes

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and compliance programmes
  • Draft judicial review claims and prepare cases for the Administrative Court
  • Provide public law advice on government decision-making, vires, and procedural fairness
  • Support government affairs engagements including parliamentary briefings and consultations
  • Monitor and analyse legislative and regulatory developments affecting clients
  • Manage multi-jurisdictional regulatory matters with international colleagues

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor or Barrister of England and Wales with 3-5 years PQE in public/regulatory law
  • Experience in judicial review, public law, or regulatory investigations
  • Strong understanding of the Human Rights Act 1998, Administrative Court procedures, and principles of natural justice
  • Knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks across multiple sectors
  • Experience engaging with government departments, regulators, or parliamentary committees
  • Excellent writing, research, and stakeholder management skills
