Legal Consultant — Trade Finance, Société Générale Algérie
Société Générale Algérie is seeking a Legal Consultant specializing in trade finance to support its corporate banking activities. Algeria's foreign trade regulations create unique legal challenges that require specialized expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise on letters of credit (crédits documentaires), bank guarantees, and trade finance instruments under Algeria's foreign exchange regulations
- Review import/export documentation for compliance with Banque d'Algérie foreign trade regulations
- Draft and negotiate standby letters of credit, performance bonds, and advance payment guarantees
- Advise on foreign exchange regulations and domiciliation procedures for international trade
- Support the bank's corporate clients on cross-border payment structures and trade compliance
- Coordinate with the Group's international trade finance network

Requirements
Master's degree in Law or Finance with specialization in Banking/Trade Law. 3-5 years' experience in trade finance, banking law, or international commerce. Strong knowledge of UCP 600, URDG 758, and international trade law instruments. Familiarity with Algeria's foreign exchange regulations and Banque d'Algérie circulars on foreign trade. Experience with documentary credits and guarantee instruments. Fluency in French and English required; Arabic is an advantage. Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
